Our Story
Spectrum Metal Finishing was founded in 1993 by Neil Chrisman, who brought 18 years of experience at PPG Industries to his new venture. Located in Youngstown, Ohio— the birthplace of the aluminum extrusion industry—Spectrum was positioned at the heart of architectural metal fabrication.
What started as a liquid coating operation has grown into a comprehensive finishing facility offering both liquid and powder coating under one roof. A major expansion in 2015 added our powder coating line, effectively doubling our facility footprint and capabilities.
Today, Spectrum is led by Neil Chrisman IV, representing the second generation of family ownership. With over 60 employees, we've coated landmark projects from One World Trade Center to stadiums, hospitals, and corporate headquarters across North America and beyond.
Despite our growth, we remain a family business at heart. Many of our employees have been with us for 20+ years. That experience and stability translates directly to consistent quality on every project.
